We have a wide range of information seeking tools available to assist you.
Electronic Resources
Looking for authoritative magazine and journal articles on a topic? Need up-to-date business data? The library maintains subscriptions to more than two dozen commercial services offering millions of full text articles from general and specialized encyclopedias, reference books, atlases, and thousands of magazines and journals. From, art to music, from genealogy to car repair, we have information you cannot find for free on the Internet. Due to licensing restrictions some of these resources are only available from computers located at any of the 22 Dayton Metro Library locations.
Indexes
In addition to our catalog, the Dayton Metro Library maintains special indexes resources found only at the Dayton Metro Library. We have the only index of the Dayton Daily News going back to 1985. We have also started a number of new indexes of interest to genealogists, such as HOBITS, our Historical Obituary Index.

Not quite certain of where all to go to find information on your topic? We have developed a list of guides to assist you in exploring the full range of print, electronic and Internet resources. Even if your precise topic isn't listed, these subject guides may give you ideas as to where and how to find the information you need.
Catalog
Our library catalog offers up-to-date status information for over 2,100,000 books, videos, music and spoken recordings. In addition to our holdings you will find materials owned by the Troy-Miami County Public Library and the Bradford Public Library. Most materials can be reserved and we can ship copies to any branch for your convenience.
