Fossil remains of plants and animals have been found found in Ohio rock dating back a half billon year. Many have become extinct, but some have survived to this day. This video discusses how fossils are formed, the major types found in sedimentary rock, and what the lands and seas looked like when this area was covered by a shallow sea or a swampy marsh.
