Archival Services

The Archivist/Conservator of the Dayton and Montgomery County Public Library is available for consultation regarding the arrangement and description of archival collections as well as the physical conservation of archival materials.

Library archival materials are not available for circulation or Inter Library Loan. However, a variety of services are provided. Patrons may come and visit the Library and with a valid Library card may request specific material for research or study in the collection area; copies can be made using coin-operated special copiers. Browsing is not permitted. An appointment also can be arranged with the Archivist/Conservator Librarian if you have a special request. Finally, patrons may correspond with the Archivist/Conservator for assistance with research questions.

Most of the materials are reference only. They cannot be checked out, nor are they available for interlibrary loan. Photocopying on-site is 10 cents per copy. When requesting photocopies by mail, charges are 25 cents per page ($1.00 minimum) for copies sent out to residents of Ohio, and 25 cents per page ($1.00 minimum) plus $1.00 for handling and mailing outside the state of Ohio.
